The first few nights were a little rough. In the hospital Parker slept 4 to 5 hours at night! We thought we had it made. We bring her home and she is up every hour to hour and a half. She wasn't hungry just fussy. Around 4:30am I just put her in the bed with me. I know, I know all the warning signs jump out but at that point she was sleeping so I didn't care. The next night was a little better but it was still rough. We got things figured out by night 3. Parker was going three to fours at night and around 2 hours during the day for eating.
While Parker is a great night time sleeper, she is not much of a daytime napper. She only slept in 15 to 20 minute spurts! A sleeping all the time newborn she was not!
Just 10 days into her life, she got to experience her first Christmas celebrations! We went to my parent's on Christmas Eve. We had our tradional Christmas Eve Chili and opened presents. The next day we spent Christmas at Richard's parents house. Parker was able to meet her uncle, great grandmother, great uncle, and many other extended family. We started with just her mimi and poppa and aunt and uncle. We opened presents in the morning and the extended family joined us for lunch. We stayed until after dinner and headed back home. My mom, dad and sister came over that night for dessert and to see Parker. It was a whirlwind and exhausting day but a good one.
