Almost time for baby!

At my last Doctor's appointment (4 days after my due date) the dr wanted me to come in on Monday Dec 14 for a non stress test. Basically just to monitor Parker's heartrate and my contractions. We were scheduled to be induced on Tuesday morning. So off we head to the doctors office bright and early Monday morning. We went ahead fed Charlie just in case...my bags had been packed and in the car for a week at this point. So I get to the dr office for my 8am appointment and they get me all hooked up to the monitors. The first thing we hear...not Parker's heart rate but the air inside my intestine's. The nurse is like whoa! Richard and I are just cracking up. Seriously it sounded like they were going to explode at any minute. Funny thing is, I couldn't feel any of it! They finally find Parker's heart rate and off the nurse goes. Things go fine for a few minutes, but then I notice the machine isn't registering her heart rate. I can feel her move around so I feel she is okay. The nurse comes back in and moves the monitor around and off she goes again. She does this one more time and says they are having trouble keeping up with her heart rate. They are thinking, Parker is sleeping, so she gives me crackers and a coke to try and get things moving. Well Parker cooperates a little too much and is just moving all around and they have even more trouble picking up her heart rate. There were a few times when they did pick it up it was only reading in the 70's. For those that don't know that is not good, she was usually in the 150's. I wasn't really having any contractions at this point. So the doctor decides to do an ultrasouond to check the fluid around her. We do the ultra sound and she says everything looks fine, but she is going to go ahead and send me to the hospital and go ahead and induce. Richard and I are a little shell shocked at this point. Just because the doctor was saying everything looked good and nothing was wrong, but we'll go ahead and send you. The doctor was very non chalant about it all. So we drop by his office for him to tie up some lose ends, then stop by the book store. By this time its around 10:45am so we go ahead and eat lunch since we know there will be no eating for me once we get there. Then since I hadn't packed anything for Richard, we stop by another store and get him a toothbrush and toothpaste and a few snacks. By the time we get to the hospital it's 11:30. We left my doctor's office around 9:45am. As we are waiting to be called back, my cell rings and it's the doctors office wanting to know if I'm okay! Apparently when we didn't get there right away, they were worried. Around 12pm I was finally in a room and all hooked and ready to go!
